The research paper presents findings obtained within the investigation on how dynamic properties of different welding power supply equipment influence electrode metal transfer to the weld pool, and change structural and phase composition of welded joints produced via high alloyed electrodes. It has been proved, that an inverter converter, in comparison with a classic diode converter, helps: decrease an average arcing period, within the intervals when an electrode melts and electrode metal drops are developed, by 36 %, which, in its turn, helps avoid overheating of welded items; reduce heat-affected zone area by 40 %, as well as its width by 32 %, and, enhance welded joints operating ability; obtain more equilibrium, fine-grain structure of welded metal and a heat-affected zone.
